| Get away for the day and ride the rails to Santa Barbara, the popular beach city known as “America’s Riviera.” We’ll motorcoach to L.A.’s historic Union Station and board Amtrak’s Coast Starlight train for a relaxing and scenic ride along the coast. The Coast Starlight is the only Amtrak train along this route that features an observation car for spectacular ocean views! We’ll disembark in Santa Barbara and reboard our motorcoach for a short transfer to Santa Barbara’s downtown shopping district. Characterized by unique shopping, great food and distinctive architecture, downtown Santa Barbara offers palm-lined thoroughfares where you’ll be surrounded by shops, boutiques, tantalizing eateries and beautiful Spanish architecture. This afternoon we’ll board a large catamaran for a narrated, two-hour cruise along the Santa Barbara coastline in search of sea lions, dolphins, birds and other wildlife. Regardless of what wildlife we see, the ocean views provide an unforgettable experience. We will motorcoach home. Each guest should bring a driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification to present to Amtrak on the day of the tour if requested. Should the Coast Starlight train be canceled by Amtrak, an Amtrak Surfliner train or an included lunch may be substituted. Suggested: sunscreen, hat, non-marking soled shoes and dress in layers as it tends to be cooler on the water. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available onboard the catamaran. |
