Today we head deep into the picturesque Temecula Valley to discover some truly marvelous gems. This morning we’ll visit a family-owned and operated lavender farm that’s nestled in the mountain outskirts of Temecula with spectacular views of the valley below. We’ll explore their organic lavender field filled with both French and English lavender and learn about the different varieties of lavender, how it’s grown, harvested and how the oil is extracted and transformed into the lavender-infused products available to purchase at the farm store. You’ll have the unique opportunity to cut your own fragrant lavender bouquet to take home with you! We continue to Wilson Creek Winery, a family-owned winery in the heart of the Temecula Valley Wine Country. We’ll enjoy an included deli-style lunch buffet, wine tasting and a guided tour of this award-winning winery that features pristine grounds and beautiful vistas. We top off the day in downtown Temecula with an included ice cream treat at an old-fashioned candy and ice cream shop that sells fudge, gourmet caramel apples and handmade custom chocolates. This delightful emporium of “sweet” nostalgia also sells retro signs, toys, and candy that you’ll remember from your childhood. This tour involves moderate walking over uneven terrain. While this is the time of year lavender is generally in bloom, the duration and intensity of lavender blooms varies from year to year and blooms are never guaranteed. |
