It’s Christmas time in the “City of Angels” and this tour will showcase two of its greatest holiday experiences. First, we’ll enjoy an included, three-course early dinner with choice of entrée at the historic Tam O’Shanter Inn, a charming replica of a cozy Scottish Inn which was established in 1922 by the founders of the Van De Kamp’s Holland Dutch Bakeries and Lawry’s. As you dine, it will seem as if you’ve entered a scene straight out of a Victorian yuletide story. An imposing Christmas tree smothered with white frost towers over leather wingback chairs that sit beneath garlands of candy-red poinsettias and fragrant pine. A tidy brick fireplace flickers and the warm aroma of roasting beef and rich brown gravy fills the air. We continue to the L.A. Zoo for L.A. Zoo Lights, a magical holiday light experience combining spectacular sets and lighting design within the Zoo’s enchanting environment tucked into the hills of Griffith Park. Stroll through giant glittering snowflakes, a magical disco ball forest, a twinkling tunnel filled with dynamic swirls of colors and see the world’s largest illuminated pop-up storybook. This fantastic winter wonderland is populated by glowing animals rendered in LED lights, both hand-crafted and high-tech to create a holiday event to remember! The Zoo’s live animals are not on view during this nighttime holiday experience. This tour involves moderate walking. |
