This inspiring cultural journey across Los Angeles celebrates resilience, heritage, and creative artistry – tracing a path from the solemn lessons of European history to the glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age. We begin at the newly reimagined Holocaust Museum LA at the new Jona Goldrich Cultural Center in Pan Pacific Park. Situated on 1.5 acres in the heart of Los Angeles, the new $65 million campus triples the museum's previous footprint with an expansive indoor-outdoor setting designed by architect Hagy Belzberg. Rising naturally beneath an organic, light-filled white canopy with floor-to-ceiling glass looking out over the park's green lawns, the campus seamlessly blends quiet reflection with deeply impactful exhibitions, while becoming L.A.’s newest architectural landmark. Following a docent-guided tour to include an authentic WWII-era German freight boxcar and the poignant permanent galleries showcasing thousands of personal artifacts and heirlooms donated by local survivors, we’ll have time at leisure to reflect in the GRoW @ Annenberg Rooftop Garden. This is the first survivor-founded and oldest Holocaust museum in the U.S. with the largest collection of Holocaust-era artifacts on the West Coast. This afternoon, savor an included three-course lunch – with a cup of soup, your choice of a classic deli half-sandwich, and cheesecake – at legendary Langer’s Delicatessen-Restaurant near MacArthur Park. Founded by Russian immigrant and WWII veteran Al Langer, this beloved institution is world-famous for its hand-sliced hot pastrami and signature double-baked crusty rye bread. Langer’s stands as a vibrant symbol of resilience, family heritage, and time-honored tradition in Los Angeles cuisine. Our day concludes in downtown L.A. at the ASU FIDM Museum for the exclusive exhibition, ADRIAN: Designing Hollywood, Dressing America. Born to immigrant Jewish parents, visionary costume designer Gilbert Adrian defined Golden Age cinema style, creating lavish escapist fashion for Depression-era audiences and dressing legends like Joan Crawford and Jean Harlow. Featuring more than 50 rare original ensembles and accessories from his 200-plus film credits – including The Wizard of Oz – this special showcase honors a true maverick who shaped the silver screen and dressed America’s most fashionable women.
