Tennessee Rivers Cruise

Day 1 – Chattanooga, TN

Once known primarily as a rail and manufacturing hub, Chattanooga has since transformed into a vibrant destination for outdoor recreation and culture. Watched over by the towering Lookout Mountain, site of the famed “Battle Above the Clouds” during the Civil War, Chattanooga offers panoramic views alongside stories of strife and strategy. Mountain overlooks, gardens, and walking paths reveal sweeping vistas of the Tennessee River Valley and showcase the region’s natural beauty. Downtown, the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge, one of the world’s longest pedestrian bridges, arches gracefully over the water, while Coolidge Park, with its classic carousel and expansive green spaces, offers a relaxing retreat by the waterfront.

Prior to embarking, enjoy an included over-night stay in Chattanooga (for bookings made at least 30 days in advance). On the morning of the cruise, meet in the hotel lobby and enjoy transportation to the ship to begin your cruise from Chattanooga. All luggage will be brought directly from the hotel and placed in your stateroom aboard the ship.

Day 2 – Cruising the Tennessee River

Day 3 – Decatur, AL

Unfolding along the banks of the Tennessee River and serving as a vital hub of activity and culture, the unique port of Decatur invites exploration. The Old State Bank, with its dignified facade, stands as a testament to Alabama’s early financial endeavors and its perseverance through economic shifts and the Civil War.

Day 4 – Florence, AL

Day 5 – Savannah, TN

On the eastern shores of the Tennessee River, Savannah holds a strong connection to the region’s heritage and serves as the primary access point to Shiloh National Military Park, one of the most significant Civil War battlefields in the area.

On the Tennessee River Museum Shuttle set out to explore the Catfish Capital of the World, Savannah, with a shuttle that brings you straight to the Tennessee River Museum, where history and local flavor come together. Step inside to journey from prehistoric times through post-war reconciliation as engaging exhibits and one-of-a-kind artifacts reveal the region’s rich past. As you wander the museum, enjoy samples of hand-prepared Southern fare, from hushpuppies to refreshing local beverages, offering a true taste of the area. Or enjoy a driving exploration of Shiloh Military Park, which was established by Congress on December 27, 1894, to commemorate the April 6-7, 1862, battle that raged around Shiloh Church and Pittsburg Landing. Resulting in more than 23,000 casualties, the battle was the largest engagement in the Mississippi Valley campaign during the Civil War. Today, visitors can learn about the history from National Park Ranger programs and explore the grounds of this hallowed site.

Day 6 – Paducah, KY

At the meeting point of the Tennessee River and the Ohio River lies Paducah, a designated UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art. With the guidance of our seasoned local expert, delve into its layered history and evolving creative identity. Explore the city’s Wall-to-Wall Floodwall Murals, a sweeping public art installation featuring more than 50 large-scale works depicting Native American heritage, pivotal Civil War moments, and local landmarks such as the Old Carnegie Library. Continue to the LowerTown Arts District, a 25-square-block neighborhood where restored buildings now house studios, galleries, and a thriving community of working artists.

Take a narrated exploration of historic downtown highlights, including Honky Tonk Row, Bicentennial Park, and the Tennessee State Capitol. Discover the connections between country music's past and artists of today in the interactive gallery space. Witness everything from Hank William's cherished Martin guitar and Elvis Presley's custom Cadillac to outfits and instruments from all of your favorite artists. Conclude your visit with an unforgettable evening at the Grand Ole Opry, where live performances showcase both emerging artists and longtime members of country music’s most celebrated tradition. The evening show will begin at 7:00 pm, featuring up and coming country artists, as well as musical groups that have been Opry Members for years.

Day 9 – Nashville, TN
