Judy Garland Tribute Tour With Sony Pictures Studios Tour, Hollywood Forever Cemetery & Included Lunch at The Smoke House
On this new and one-of-a-kind Old Hollywood tour, we’ll honor and celebrate Judy Garland, one of the brightest stars of Hollywood’s Golden Era. This fun, celebrity-themed adventure is led by Jasmin, a former actress and Old Hollywood aficionado, who has led our tribute tours to Walt Disney, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball and Frank Sinatra. One of the most talented and iconic show business legends of all time, Judy Garland rose from vaudeville to film stardom on the strength of her gloriously expressive and powerful voice. Signed to MGM, she became a superstar while filming nine films with Mickey Rooney and iconic roles in The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, The Harvey Girls, Easter Parade and more. We begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of Sony Picture Studios (previously MGM Studios), where The Wizard of Oz and Meet Me in St. Louis were filmed. This fun and fascinating 2-hour, guided walking tour provides a rare glimpse into Old Hollywood's glory days and an insider’s view of a working, state-of-the-art motion picture studio! Your knowledgeable studio guide will lead the way as we explore the outdoor sets and soundstages including the very soundstage where Judy Garland sang “Over the Rainbow,” as well as those used in Men in Black, Spider-Man, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune and other film and television shows. We continue to Burbank and enjoy an included lunch with choice of entrée, dessert and the “world’s greatest garlic cheese bread” at the beloved Smoke House, the legendary restaurant where Judy would often eat while filming her Oscar-nominated comeback, A Star is Born , at the adjacent Warner Bros. Studio. This iconic restaurant is still frequented by television and film stars and epitomizes “Old Hollywood.” We continue to Hollywood and pay our respects to Judy, Mickey Rooney and “Toto” the dog at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Founded in 1899 and recently added to the National Register of Historic Sites, Hollywood Forever is the final resting place for more of Hollywood’s founders and stars than anywhere else on earth! Should Hollywood Forever be inaccessible due to a memorial service, we’ll make an alternate stop. Because Sony Studios is an active filming studio, the tour route and stops is subject to change. Required: proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification must be presented to Sony Studios security. This tour involves extensive walking.
To ensure a healthy and enjoyable travel experience for our guests, this tour will operate with additional health and safety measures in place.
