Escape for a beautiful spring Sunday to San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre haven of natural beauty, wonderful art, culture, stunning Spanish Revival architecture, and world-class gardens. With approximately five hours on-site and two add-on optional experiences available, you can choose your own adventure! If you don’t add-on one of our optional experiences, enjoy all 5 hours at leisure to immerse yourself in this garden and museum lover’s haven. Experience the free organ concert at the Spreckles Organ Pavilion, featuring the amazing Spreckels Organ and its 5,000 pipes! Relax in the shade of a century-old tree or on a bench watching butterflies in one of Balboa Park’s lush, uniquely landscaped gardens. From the sweet-smelling roses in the rose garden to the prickly cacti with beautiful blooms in the cactus garden, to brightly colored water lilies in the lily pond and outstanding orchids in the newly restored Botanical Building, the gardens here are endless and free (except for the Japanese Friendship Garden which does charge an admission on-site). The museums here are as diverse as the gardens and include the San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, San Diego History Center, Museum of Us, Museum of Photographic Arts, Mingei International Museum, Fleet Science Center and others (most museums have separate admission fees payable on-site). Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the Balboa Park eateries or bring a sack lunch. Or, add-on optional admission to the nationally renowned San Diego Museum of Art and its glorious spring spectacle, Art Alive – in full bloom this weekend only! This year’s theme, "A Centennial Soiree in Full Bloom," celebrates the museum’s landmark anniversary and a featured exhibition of works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The galleries will come to life as talented floral designers present almost 80 exquisite interpretations of global masterpieces. Displayed alongside the original works of art, these floral arrangements invite stunning comparisons of shape, form, and color. This year’s exhibit is infused with the vibrant, theatrical spirit of late 19th-century Paris, reimagined through Toulouse-Lautrec’s iconic lens. Don't miss this awe-inspiring spectacle of world-class art and fragrance – the most widely attended event of its kind in the U.S.! Or, add-on optional admission to the San Diego Zoo, celebrating its historic 110th anniversary in 2026! This world-class experience allows you to explore the 100-acre park at your own pace with access to the Guided Bus Tour (a narrated driving tour highlighting the main areas of the Zoo), the Skyfari Aerial Tram (providing overhead transportation from one side of the Zoo to the other), and all regularly scheduled experiences. Widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest zoos, this iconic park leads the way in conservation and habitat innovation as you’ll witness a modern, nature-first approach where animals live in expansive settings that prioritize species preservation over entertainment. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Zoo, one of the Balboa Park eateries, or bring a sack lunch. Please note that while the Giant Pandas Xian Bao and Yun Chuan are at the Zoo, there is no way to guarantee seeing them as complimentary, timed entry tickets to Panda Ridge are only available on-site on a first come, first served basis and the standby line could prove to be too long of a wait for some. Only one optional admission can be selected per guest.
To ensure a healthy and enjoyable travel experience for our guests, this tour will operate with additional health & wellness measures in place.
