Get your engine revved up at The Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum, Southern California’s premier destination to learn about the history of the automobile and take a ride in one of their classic cars! A docent-guided tour will showcase the museum’s collection of over 130 cars, trucks, and motorcycles, dating from the early 1900s to the present day. Some of the highlights of the collection include a 1904 Duryea Motor Wagon, a 1911 Ford Model T, a 1932 Plymouth Brewster Town Car, and a 1969 Dodge Charger. In addition to the cars, the museum features a variety of exhibits that tell the story of the automobile including a timeline of automotive history, a display of car engines, and a collection of car memorabilia. The museum features a gift shop full of car-related merchandise and a 1950’s themed ice cream parlor. Surely, the highlight of your time here, however, will be when you’re taken for a ride in one of the vehicles by an experienced driver. Later this afternoon (approximately 4:00 p.m.), we’ll enjoy an early supper with choice of entrée (salmon, chicken parmesan or pasta primavera) and dessert at 22nd St. Landing Seafood Grill & Bar, an award-winning waterfront restaurant in San Pedro that offers spectacular views of the Cabrillo Marina. Just prior to sunset, we’ll enjoy a narrated Long Beach Harbor cruise to learn about the bustling Long Beach Harbor and enjoy spectacular views of the Long Beach skyline, the Queen Mary, massive container ships, sea life and historical landmarks. |
