Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Sunday, 10/3/2021 - Coastal Train Ride
We set out from our departure points onboard a deluxe motorcoach to downtown Los Angeles’ Union Station. Here, we’ll board Amtrak’s Coast Starlight train for a memorable five-hour rail journey along California’s spectacular coastline and through its fertile valleys to San Luis Obispo. We’ll travel along Point Conception and through Vandenberg Air Force Base where you’ll see the launch complexes and beautiful undeveloped coastline only visible by train. You are free to move around the train, get lunch from the snack bar or enjoy a waiter-served lunch on your own in the dining car (based on availability). Check out the view from the observation car or just relax in your reclining seat. Upon arrival in San Luis Obispo, our motorcoach will be waiting to take us the short distance to the charming Apple Farm Inn. Nestled by San Luis Obispo Creek and surrounded by rolling hills, the Apple Farm Inn is a “country rustic,” AAA Four Diamond, Victorian-style inn situated among a lush, quiet garden setting. The Inn blends the country charm of yesteryear with all of the modern comforts of today. Enjoy the inn’s complimentary wine reception prior to dinner on your own at the Apple Farm Inn Restaurant – the warm and inviting farmhouse-inspired restaurant.

Day 3
Tuesday, 10/5/2021 - Napa Valley, Sonoma
Following an included breakfast at the hotel, we’ll travel through the rolling hills into the Napa Valley – one of the most picturesque and widely recognized wine regions in the world. Vineyards have been part of the landscape here for more than 150 years and today this valley is home to more than 400 wineries! We’ll board the Napa Valley Wine Train for a three-hour experience you’ll never forget. The faithfully-restored, vintage, early 20th century Pullman cars that feature Honduran mahogany paneling, brass accents, etched glass partitions, and plush armchairs evoke the elegant glory days of luxury train travel of the early 1900s. Sit back, relax, and savor the extraordinary scenery as we enjoy a 36-mile round-trip journey to St. Helena and back. Onboard we’ll enjoy a three-course, waiter-served lunch with choice of entrée as the lush vineyards of the Napa Valley landscape pass by. This afternoon we continue to the historic town of Sonoma and its historic town plaza – a remnant of the town’s Spanish colonial past. Enjoy time at leisure to explore Mission San Francisco Solano State Historic Park and dinner on your own at one of the eateries here.
