Join us this “halloweekend” for a vibrant celebration of life and death at the 24th annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The largest Día de los Muertos celebration outside of Mexico, this ancient Mexican holiday celebrates and honors those who have transitioned to the “other side of the veil” with vibrant art, elaborate altars, music, dance, and costumes. The expansive festival features Aztec dancers, live music, food and craft vendors and a special art exhibition in The Cathedral Mausoleum featuring original Día de los Muertos art by renowned artists. The vibrant Ceremonial Procession features Aztec ritual dancers in full costume offering blessings as they parade through the cemetery past more than I’50 vibrant altars created by members of the community in remembrance of their ancestors and loved ones. Enjoy approximately 4 hours at leisure before we continue to The Original Farmers Market and The Grove with time at leisure for an early dinner on your own. This tour involves moderate walking. Suggested: A blanket to sit on as chairs are not permitted in the cemetery. |
