This new tour of Orange County’s hidden gems begins with a guided factory tour at the Yakult U.S.A. headquarters. You may not recognize the name “Yakult,” but you’ll certainly recognize the little iconic bottles that are filled with the popular, creamy probiotic beverage. Created in Japan in 1935, Yakult is not only the pioneer of probiotic beverages but the world's leading probiotic beverage maker – it’s now sold in 38 countries around the world. On this fascinating, behind-the-scenes tour of the state-of-the-art factory, we’ll learn about the company’s history, see how Yakult is made, bottled and packaged and taste the famous drink! We continue to Collage Culinary Experience, Orange County’s newest foodie destination, where you can pair and piece together the most perfect dining experience for lunch on your own. This two-story global dining collective housed in an artfully designed space at South Coast Plaza has nine dining experiences featuring both local and international cuisine. This afternoon, we’ll visit the breathtaking new home of the Orange County Museum of Art on the Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus. The striking design of this 53,000 square foot building has been described as “Walt Disney Concert Hall meets the Getty Center.” As you explore the 25,000 square feet of gallery space at leisure, there is a constant feeling of exploration as you turn a corner and discover something new and incredible. The museum's collection focuses on art of California from the early 20th century to present. Exhibits include traditional paintings, sculptures and photography, as well as new media in the form of video, digital and installation art. We top off the day with an included ice cream treat at a popular handcrafted ice creamery that started back in 1972. You’ll love the homemade, all-natural ice cream of unique flavors made in small batches. This tour involves moderate walking. |
