Get ready to sip, savor and get that Christmas shopping done early when we escape for the day to Idyllwild, the charming mile-high town nestled in the tall pines of the San Jacinto Mountains (elevation 5,400’). The fresh mountain air, sweet-smelling cedars and legendary rocks will provide the perfect setting to enjoy this mountain town’s 25th Annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting! This one-day event hosted by the Art Alliance of Idyllwild features award-winning wines from up to 18 different wineries, along with over 30 artists selling unique and spectacular artwork. You’ll be provided with a keepsake wine glass so you can leisurely stroll from one end of town to the other with wine pouring stations interspersed between artists’ booths (with a free shuttle service also available). Enjoy ample time at leisure to explore the festival as well as the boutique shops and galleries in this small mountain town that has been ranked as one of the ‘Top 100 Art Towns in America.’ Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the charming local restaurants. We’ll make a stop at Hadley’s Fruit Orchards, the southern California landmark that has provided a friendly place to shop for premium quality Medjool dates, dried fruit, nuts, hand-mixed trail mixes, honey, preserves, freshly-ground peanut butter and a variety of gifts since 1931. At the snack bar is where you’ll find their famous date shakes! All guests must be 21 years or older and prepared to show proof of age if requested. This fundraising event is held ‘rain or shine.’ This tour involves moderate walking and driving on mountain roads. |
