On this festive tour dripping in holiday splendor, we’ll begin with time at leisure for an early dinner (approximately 3:30 p.m.) on your own at the Rolling Hills Plaza complex featuring a variety of restaurants. As the sun sets, we’ll make our way to the stunning South Coast Botanic Garden, known as “The Jewel of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.” This year the gardens host Astra Lumina, an enchanted night walk amongst the stars. We’re always told to reach for the stars, but what if the stars could reach for us? During this visually stunning, immersive art and sound installation, the stars will descend from the night sky into this lush botanic oasis. Set off across mysterious grounds to discover a celestial pathway of lustrous light, cosmic visions, and astral song, you’ll immerse yourself in illuminating encounters and connect with the stars before they return to the sky above. As the night unfolds, these luminous orbs regenerate, rise, and reunite in the night sky, to shine brighter than ever before. We top off the evening marveling at the lights and holiday décor at “Sleepy Hollow,” a Torrance neighborhood that goes all out for the holiday season! This is an outdoor, nighttime event – please be sure to dress warmly and prepare for moderate walking. In some areas the lighting will be at a low level and therefore, the event organizers encourage you to bring along a flashlight to be used only if necessary. |
