Enjoy the fall colors and breathe in the crisp, clean mountain air when we escape to Oak Glen, “where apples grow a mile high” in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains (elevation 5,000’) during apple harvest season. Our first stop will be at Oak Tree Village where we’ll enjoy time at leisure for lunch on your own at Apple Annie’s, the world-famous restaurant “serving up home cookin’ since 1962!” There’s plenty of covered outdoor patio dining to enjoy their burgers, beef dip, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, sandwiches, chili, bread bowls and salads. There’s also covered tables and benches for those that may just want to visit Apple Annie’ Bakery, serving up fresh baked goods including their famous “5 Pound Mile High Apple Pie!” And don’t forget to wander next door to Pops & Drops Candy Co. serving up chocolate covered caramel apples, fudge, ice cream and other sweets! We continue to a family-owned apple farm in a beautiful setting shaded by an ancient chestnut tree. Enjoy time at leisure to browse their country store offering a broad selection of products including fresh apples, cider, artisan balsamic vinegars and oils, local honey, unique gifts, and farm-made wine and hard cider. You can even do some wine tasting (additional fee) and purchase their famous apple cider donuts to enjoy with hot or cold apple cider. At Riley’s Farm we’ll enjoy time at leisure in this historic apple orchard in the heart of “apple country.” In addition to their u-pick apple orchard (additional fee), you can purchase their famous jams, pumpkin butter, cider and fresh apple pie. We’ll top off the day at a historic apple shed featuring a gift shop filled with unique gifts and specialty food sourced from craftsmen and craftswomen around the world. Shopping not your thing? Grab a gourmet coffee, cider or slice of apple pie to enjoy at one of the many outdoor tables. This tour involves moderate walking over uneven terrain.
To ensure a healthy and enjoyable travel experience for our guests, this tour will operate with additional health and safety measures in place and require each guest show proof of vaccination and complete a Wellness Pledge.
