Today we are joined by professional step-on guide, Curt, who is a history buff with an expertise on the evolution of Los Angeles and especially loved for his charismatic personality and fun stories. On this fun and unique tour, we’ll explore L.A.’s most famous boulevards to discover not only the most historic sights, but the newest developments as well. We’ll begin on Wilshire Boulevard in downtown L.A. to see the Wilshire Grand Center – the upscale, world-class 73-story skyscraper that is now the tallest building on the West Coast! Continuing along Figueroa St. we’ll arrive in Chinatown which is actually L.A.’s second “Chinatown” and is experiencing a modern-day renaissance. We continue on Sunset Blvd. through Silver Lake and into the heart of Hollywood via Hollywood Boulevard. Here, we’ll visit World of Illusions for a fun and unique experience where your mind will question reality and your soul will be filled with amazement! This popular museum recently underwent a massive upgrade unveiling new 3D illusions that will transport you to a world of fantasy and imagination. Here, you can seemingly go on an African safari, take the stage in front of a massive crowd of adoring fans and walk on the edge of a skyscraper in a daring escape attempt. Don’t forget your camera as you’ll surely baffle your friends and family with the amazing optical illusions that produce eye-popping pics inspired by cartoon, art, current events, movies and more! We continue along Sunset Boulevard where we’ll travel the legendary “Sunset Strip” – the party destination and playground of Hollywood royalty since the 1920s. Enjoy time at leisure for lunch on your own at the famous Original Farmer’s Market or the Grove offering a variety of eateries. We continue to Santa Monica Boulevard through Beverly Hills and arrive at Eataly, L.A.’s massive emporium and true foodie paradise which features all things edible and drinkable Italian. Enjoy an included gelato and time at leisure to browse this two-story, “temple of la dolce vita.” |
