We kick-off this holiday excursion at two charming destinations in Redlands, known as the “Jewel of the Inland Empire,” in large part because of its beautiful architecture, small town charm, and agriculture influenced by the early citrus farmers. First, enjoy an included tea lunch at Martha Green’s The Eating Room, a locals’ favorite known for their scratch-made comfort food. You’ll enjoy traditional tea blends imported from Britain along with delicious homemade breads and finger sandwiches accompanied by all the “proper treats” including petite fours, scones and other sweet delights served on a three-tiered rack. While this tea room follows traditional British preparation, it also stays true to its Southern California roots and keep things casual and “rustic” to ensure you can sip and talk in comfort in their quaint “country kitchen-esque” setting. This afternoon we continue to the historic Kimberly Crest Mansion for a guided tour to see first-hand what Christmas looks like in a lavish, immaculately kept French chateau-style home that is a well-preserved example of California’s Victorian era. Built in 1897, this stately mansion that overlooks the San Bernardino Valley was owned by J.A. Kimberly – one of the founding members of the Kimberly-Clark Paper Company. Later we continue to Cherry Valley to savor the delightful sights, scents and flavors of the season at Highland Springs Ranch’s “Christmas on the Farm” event. Established in 1884, this ranch has been visited by the likes of Wyatt Earp, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Einstein, Bob Hope and Elizabeth Taylor! Even after all these years, the ranch has preserved its history and retained the charm that has made it a destination for over 100 years! Enjoy time at leisure to explore this holiday event featuring majestic oak trees decorated with twinkle lights, festively decorated buildings and the scent of the holidays in the air. The ranch’s vintage hotel rooms will be converted into uniquely themed and decorated shops offering handmade gifts from local vendors which makes for perfect holiday shopping! Enjoy dinner on your own here with delicious holiday treats available for purchase. This tour involves moderate walking and stairs to reach the second level of the mansion.
To ensure a healthy and enjoyable travel experience for our guests, this tour will operate with additional health and safety measures in place and require each guest show proof of vaccination and complete a Wellness Pledge.
