Join us on this autumn discovery of the unique animals and diverse agriculture in northern San Diego County. Tame your curiosity for wildlife at Wild Wonders, a wild animal reserve that cares for more than 120 exotic animals rescued from all over the world! Animals from this reserve have appeared on The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, Today and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. During this unique animal experience, a wildlife educator will introduce us to a variety of amazing creatures. Our journey continues to the charming Bates Nut Farm, located in a picturesque oak-filled valley near Valley Center. For more than 80 years, Bates has reminded visitors of simpler times and childhood farm memories. Farm antiques and tools line the walls of the store where you can find delicious pistachios, pecans, cashews, peanuts, pignolias and other culinary delights available for purchase. The old-fashioned candy counter is over 25-feet long and filled with truffles, mammoth turtles, a variety of chocolates and homemade fudge! While on the farm, we’ll enjoy an included hayride, a bag of corn to feed the farm animals, a visit to the roasting room and a barbecue lunch complete with delicious barbecue pork and beef, coleslaw, savory slow cooked beans, fresh rolls and a fresh cookie to top it off! This tour involves moderate walking over uneven terrain. |
