Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air should arrive at either the Newark Airport or JFK Airport (TBA) by 4:30 p.m. if they want to be included on the complimentary transfer to the hotel. We’ll continue by motorcoach to Midtown Manhattan where we’ll enjoy a single-hotel stay at a stately and elegant hotel  situated on 7th Avenue between 52nd and 53rd streets, just a short walk from Central Park, the Theatre District, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue and many of Manhattan’s greatest sights. Enjoy the balance of the evening at leisure.
Day 2
Friday, 5/20/2022 - Mid/Upper Manhattan
You may wish to join your tour director on an optional walking excursion to NBC Studios at Rockefeller Center this morning to see the Today Show taping live! Later this morning we’ll depart the hotel with our local guide onboard the motorcoach. Today we’ll use our audio headset system that allows us to hear the guide even on busy city streets. We’ll tour inside St. Patrick’s Cathedral and walk through Rockefeller Center. Then, enjoy an included brunch at the renowned Tavern on the Green, a true New York City icon. A modern tavern nestled in a bucolic Central Park setting, the restaurant captures the spirit of Central Park and the energy of New York City. Originally designed by Calvert Vaux and built in 1870 to house the sheep that grazed in Central Park’s Sheep Meadow, Tavern on the Green has proudly served locals, presidents, royalty, artists and actors since 1934. This afternoon we’ll enjoy a guided stroll through Central Park to see the Bethesda Fountain and Strawberry Fields – the tribute to the late John Lennon. We continue on a driving tour to see Columbia University, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Riverside Church, Grant’s Tomb, the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the celebrity apartments along Central Park East and West, the Plaza Hotel, Radio City Music Hall, 5th Avenue, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and much more! This evening we’ll enjoy a night on Broadway. We’ll walk several blocks to a locals’ favorite in the heart of the Theatre District for an included dinner. Following, you’ll head to a Broadway musical or play of your choice (some restrictions apply) at theatres located 3-4 blocks from our hotel.

Day 3
Saturday, 5/21/2022 - Mid/Lower Manhattan
This morning we’ll reboard the motorcoach and continue our Manhattan sightseeing with our local guide. On a comprehensive driving tour, we’ll see Times Square, Grand Central Library, the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Vessel in Hudson Yards and travel through various neighborhoods including Greenwich Village, SoHo, Tribeca, Little Italy, Chinatown, and much more! We’ll go inside the iconic Grand Central Terminal, visit Trinity Church and walk down Wall Street in the Financial  District to see the New York Stock Exchange. We return to the hotel late this afternoon with the balance of the evening at leisure. Good Times Travel can purchase tickets if you’d like to see an additional Broadway show tonight.
Day 4
Sunday, 5/22/2022 - Liberty & Ellis Islands
This morning we’ll depart the hotel with our local guide and travel just like New Yorkers do, aboard the New York City subway. We’ll walk several blocks to the subway station and travel by subway to Battery Park. Here we’ll board the ferry to Statue of Liberty National Monument and enjoy time at leisure to walk around the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States that has become a worldwide symbol of freedom. Back onboard the ferry, we’ll continue to Ellis Island with time at leisure to explore the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration which features films, tours, exhibits and several ways to explore your own ancestry. We return to the hotel late this afternoon by subway. This evening we’ll walk several blocks to a locals’ favorite for an included dinner. Following, we’ll continue by foot to 30 Rock at Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock observation deck. We’ll take an elevator 85 floors up to the observation deck that features three levels and 360 degree views of the City. This is the best view of the New York City skyline including a great view of the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower.

Day 5
Monday, 5/23/2022 - 9/11 Museum, Journey Home
This morning, we’ll honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice with a visit to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. The Museum displays artifacts associated with the events of 9/11, while presenting stories of loss and recovery. On a self-guided tour you’ll come to better understand what happened on 9/11, how people responded in the aftermath of the attacks, and the history and rebuilding of the World Trade Center. Enjoy ample time at your leisure to pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial, two reflecting pools, set in the footprints of the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center. Both pools have cascading waterfalls which are the largest man-made waterfalls in North America. Inscribed around the bronze edges of the pools are the names of those who died on 9/11. Visit The Survivor Tree, the 8 foot tall Callery Pear tree that was found barely alive among the rubble of the fallen towers. Nursed back to health and replanted in the plaza, it has since flourished and has grown to 30 feet in height. The tree embodies the story of survival and resilience important to the history of the World Trade Center and 9/11. Back onboard the motorcoach we’ll continue to the Newark Airport for our scheduled nonstop return flight arriving in Los Angeles this evening. Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air should depart either the Newark Airport or JFK Airport (TBA) no earlier than 5:00 p.m. Back in L.A., those with included transfers will be returned to their respective drop-off locations.
