Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Friday, 10/15/2021 - Welcome to Nashville
Optional transfers from home or our departure points will have us at the Los Angeles International Airport this morning for our scheduled non-stop flight arriving in Nashville, Tennessee this afternoon. Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air, should arrive at the Nashville Airport by 4:00 p.m. if they want to be included on the complimentary transfer from the airport to the hotel. Onboard our deluxe motorcoach, we’ll travel the short distance to our home for the next three nights, the awe-inspiring Gaylord Opryland Resort. Known for offering the epitome of Southern hospitality, this resort features nine acres of lush gardens, sparkling waterfalls and 50 shops under three glass atriums which make this hotel a destination in itself. Enjoy the balance of the evening at leisure.
Day 2
Saturday, 10/16/2021 - Nashville, Grand Ole Opry
Following an included breakfast, we’ll join a local guide for a comprehensive tour of Nashville, known as the “Birthplace and Home of Country Music.” We’ll see the historic Downtown District and “Honky Tonk Row,” Riverfront Park, the Tennessee State Capitol and Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. We’ll take a drive down Music Row – home to the recording studios and record labels. This afternoon we’ll take a backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry to get exclusive look at what happens behind the scenes of the show that made country music famous. After an included dinner at a locals’ favorite, this evening we’ll take our seats at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. Each Opry show features an array of performances by new stars, superstars and legends of country music as well as bluegrass, comedy and so much more!
Day 3
Sunday, 10/17/2021 - Nashville
After an included breakfast, we’ll tour historic RCA Studio B, considered one of the most important historic recording studios in the world. Here the “Nashville Sound” was crafted and more than 35,000 songs were brought to life from artists like Elvis, the Everly Brothers and Dolly Parton. We’ll then explore the legacy of music in Nashville with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which is far more than exhibits – it is a musical experience. Rare artifacts are enriched by a wide variety of multi-media stations. This afternoon we’ll visit the historic Ryman Auditorium, the first home of the Grand Ole Opry. Enjoy the balance of the evening at leisure.
Day 4
Monday, 10/18/2021 - Nashville to Memphis
Following an included breakfast, we’ll visit the Belle Meade Plantation, featuring a restored mansion that offers a glimpse into the lives of wealthy Tennesseans prior to the Civil War. This sanctuary to southern hospitality is dedicated to the preservation of Tennessee’s history, architecture, hospitality, and equestrian legacy. Known as "Queen of the Tennessee Plantations," this was one of the largest and wealthiest private estates in Nashville. This Greek revival-style mansion that was built in 1853 sat on 5,400 acres and was the home to five generations of the Harding-Jackson family. Before the Civil War, Belle Meade flourished; today the exterior of the home is riddled with bullet holes from the Battle of Nashville. We then travel along Tennessee’s “Music Highway”to Memphis, known as the “Home to the Blues & Birthplace of Rock n’ Roll.” We’ll begin a two-night stay at a downtown hotel and enjoy an included dinner with Blues music this evening at a Beale Street club. Among others, B.B. King sang the Blues on Beale Street, and it was here that Elvis first heard the Blues.
Day 5
Tuesday, 10/19/2021 - Memphis
Following an included breakfast, we’ll join a local guide for a tour of Memphis including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (to see the tribute to Danny Thomas), the Lorraine Motel (site of Dr. King’s assassination), the Peabody Hotel (to see the March of the Ducks down the red carpet to John Philip Sousa’s “King Cotton March”) and more. This afternoon we arrive at Graceland, Elvis Presley’s 14-acre estate. You’ll have VIP tickets which provide front-of-the-line access to his palatial mansion and access to his two custom airplanes, the Elvis Automobile Museum, a number of exhibits and the Meditation Garden, where Elvis and members of his family are laid to rest. Later, we’ll visit the legendary Sun Studio to see where all the big names like Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash recorded their hits. Enjoy the evening at leisure with Beale Street within walking distance of the hotel.
Day 6
Wednesday, 10/20/2021 - Memphis to Branson
Following an included breakfast we’ll journey north into Missouri and the music and entertainment capital of the Midwest, Branson. Nestled in the heart of the scenic Ozark Mountains, it’s easy to see why so many musical stars call this tiny town “home.” Nicknamed the “Music Capital of the World,” your time in Branson will feature some of the most dazzling productions available (subject to change) while staying two nights at a premier hotel. Following time at leisure to explore Branson Landing, we’ll take our seats for SIXThis powerhouse “Vocal Band” featuring real brothers who take musical entertainment to a whole new level. Critically acclaimed and dubbed “an orchestra of human voices” and “masters of showmanship,” these multi-talented brothers don’t use any instruments, but you’ll think you’re hearing them. Day 7
Thursday, 10/21/2021 - Branson
Following an included breakfast, we’ll join a local guide for a panoramic tour of the Branson area including the College of the Ozarks. This afternoon we’ll take our reserved seats for #1 Hits of the 60’s, a non-stop, high energy party of phenomenal hit music! You’ll go back to the days of the British Invasion, Motown, California Surfin’ and the Age of Aquarius. Over 100 costume changes, more than 100 songs, and a high school dance will provide the most fun you’ll have in Branson! And yes…you will even get to hear some classic 50’s tunes! Following an included dinner at a locals’ favorite, we’ll take our seats at the Dutton Family Theatre for The Duttons. This multi-talented family of nine perform everything from gospel to opera. You’ll be amazed by the incredible talent showcased by the Duttons as they sing, dance, and play a huge collection of instruments as part of their musical celebration.
Day 8
Friday, 10/22/2021 - Independence, Journey Home
Following an included breakfast, we’ll head north to Independence, Missouri. At the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum we’ll experience the eventful and triumphant life of America’s 33rd President. On display are exhibits and artifacts related to the events surrounding the Truman Presidency and his life, pre and post presidency. We continue to Kansas City for a return flight arriving in Los Angeles this evening. Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air, should plan to depart the Kansas City Airport no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Back in Los Angeles, those with pre-arranged transfers will be returned to their respective drop-off points.
