Today’s performance will delight you with some of the most ravishing operatic music ever written as you soar into the music of the night! Enjoy the most popular and sensuous vocal music of all time with selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rodgers & Hammerstein including “Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” “If I Loved You,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “This Nearly Was Mine.” James Barbour, who just completed a 3 year run on Broadway as the “Phantom” and starred in the title role of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast performs. Enjoy dramatic music by Giacomo Puccini including excerpts from La Boheme and Turandot including “Nessun Dorma.” You’ll appreciate the way the Cal Phil reinvents the concert for today’s listener by bringing the music into a contemporary context and illuminates the connections between diverse musical genres.
