The world’s first National Park inspires awe any time of the year, but as you’ll discover on this very special adventure, visiting Yellowstone during the winter – when bison, elk and wolves wander across snow-covered valleys, and Yellowstone’s amazing geologic features are even more spectacular – truly allows you to see the real Yellowstone. Exploring by snowcoach, you’ll feel like you pretty much have this incredible place to yourself as you see geysers, waterfalls and steaming hot springs surrounded by frozen landscapes. Combined with Jackson and Grand Teton National Park as well as sightseeing in Park City and Salt Lake City, this is a whole other type of tour – and perhaps other-worldly experience.

Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Saturday, 1/20/2018 - Arrive Salt Lake City
Your winter adventure gets under way as you make your way to Salt Lake City today.  Optional transfers from home or our departure points this morning will have you at the Long Beach Airport for a short non-stop flight arriving in Salt Lake City in the afternoon Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air, should arrive in Salt Lake City  by 1:00 p.m. Salt Lake City, Utah’s political and cultural center is silhouetted by the lovely Wasatch Mountains. In 1847 Brigham Young chose Salt Lake Valley as the area to become the major settlement of the Mormon Pioneers. Laid out more than 150 years ago, the “City of the Saints” still manages to keep its rustic charm. Today, you’ll see where ceremonies and events for the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. After checking into your downtown hotel with time to freshen up, get acquainted with your fellow passengers at an included welcome dinner.

Sunday, 1/21/2018 - Salt Lake To Yellowstone
Following an included breakfast, a once in a lifetime opportunity awaits you! Special seating has been arranged for our group at the Mormon Tabernacle in Temple Square, where you will have a chance to hear the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s weekly broadcast performance (choir schedule permitting). Following the perfor- mance, leave the Wasatch Mountains behind and drive north past the Great Salt Lake, Hill Air Force Base, and Utah’s first settlement, Ogden. This afternoon, you’ll enter Idaho and travel through the potato-producing fields of the Gem State. Continuing north, you’ll pass the town of Rexburg. In 1976, the Teton Dam burst, sending a wall of water through the main street, destroying the town. Continue on to the Island Park Region along the Madison and Henry Rivers, an area that is famous throughout the world for its outstanding trout fishing. After going over Targhee Pass you’ll enter Montana and the town of West Yellowstone, at the western gate of Yellowstone National Park. Overnight in West Yellowstone.

Day 3
Monday, 1/22/2018 - Yellowstone National Park
After an included breakfast this morning, spend the entire day exploring our nation’s oldest and most spectacular National Park via private chartered snow coaches! Yellowstone National Park is a mysterious land of steaming geysers and bubbling mudpots – a land so amazing that the first explorers to bring back tales of Yellowstone were called liars. Visit some of Yellowstone’s most famous highlights, including Firehole Falls and the geyser known world-wide as Old Faithful – a fountain of steam that faithfully rises more than 60 feet in the air. After a full day of scenic beauty, you’ll continue south to Grand Teton National Park, where you’ll see America’s youngest and most rugged mountains, the Teton Range. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you journey to Jackson  to check-in for a two-night stay. Enjoy an included dinner this evening in the old west town of Jackson.

Day 4
Tuesday, 1/23/2018 - Jackson, Elk Refuge
After our included breakfast this morning, you’ll head just a couple miles north of Jackson to the National Elk Refuge, winter home for thousands of majestic elk. Get a close-up view of these beautiful creatures on a sleigh ride through the refuge. You’ll then visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art. This museum features some of the world’s most beautiful wildlife paintings, sculptures and photographs. This afternoon you are free to explore the many shops and restaurants of this fascinating Wild West town. Jackson offers western charm at its finest. Enjoy a stroll among its boardwalk atmosphere.

Wednesday, 1/24/2018 - Park City, Salt Lake City
Following an included breakfast this morning, depart Jackson and travel through scenic western Wyoming into Idaho, all the while surrounded by silver streams, soaring peaks, and lush meadows. Drive through the rugged Snake River Canyon, stopping in the pastoral Starr Valley.This afternoon you’ll arrive at Utah Olympic Park near Park City for a docent-guided tour of this facility that hosted events during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and continues to host World Cup events. See the nordic jumps along with the bobsled and luge track – the fastest on Earth! Return to Salt Lake City in the late afternoon and join the group for a farewell dinner at a locals’ favorite in Salt Lake City.

Day 6
Thursday, 1/25/2018 - Final Farewell
After an included breakfast this morning, a short transfer to the Salt Lake International Airport. Those passengers not taking advantage of the optional group air, may depart the Salt Lake City Airport at any time. Those on the group flight will return to Long Beach Airport this afternoon and those with pre-arranged transfers will be returned to their respective destinations. You’ll always remember the fantastic scenery, gracious hospitality and magnificent wildlife on this western winter wonderland.
