Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Sunday, 3/25/2018 - Arrive in Death Valley
From our departure points this morning, we’ll travel onboard our deluxe motorcoach towards the Mojave Desert making a rest stop and stop for lunch on your own in Baker before entering Death Valley National Park this afternoon. We’ll stop to enjoy the views of the Valley and the iconic Manly Beacon from Zabriskie Point. Late this afternoon we arrive at the Oasis at Death Valley at Furnace Creek, situated in a lush oasis surrounded by the vast desert in the heart of the National Park. Here we’ll enjoy a two-night stay at The Ranch at Death Valley featuring deluxe rooms with two beds and French doors leading to a patio or balcony so you can gaze upon the stars. The Ranch restaurants recently underwent an extensive renovation and are now part of a re-imagined Spanish Colonial Revival town square. Exploring the expansive grounds, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to when this site was established in 1881 as the original home of the now famous Borax 20-Mule teams. Enjoy the balance of the evening at leisure to visit the Borax Museum, take a swim in the spring-fed swimming pool, play games on the large grass lawns and sports courts and enjoy dinner on your own at the Ranch or the Inn at Death Valley.
Day 2
Monday, 3/26/2018 - Death Valley Exploration
Enjoy an included breakfast at the Ranch this morning – the perfect fuel for our day of touring in Death Valley. A place of unexpected contrasts, this valley of sand dunes and salt has an abundance of natural wonders that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Onboard today will be a local guide who will bring to life the geology, flora, fauna, history, legends and hidden wonders of this unique place. This morning we’ll visit the National Park Visitor Center and then continue to lower Death Valley to admire the incredible landscape at Devil’s Golf Course and visit the lowest point in the western hemisphere at Badwater (292 feet below sea level). This afternoon we’ll enjoy an included lunch at the “Jewel of Death Valley,” the Inn at Death Valley the four-diamond historic hotel that has been a elegant hideaway here since 1927. This four-diamond resort is one of the National Park system’s premier historic hotels and features an expansive palm garden to stroll through. This afternoon we’ll visit Harmony Borax Works to learn how Borax was discovered in this area, how 20-mule teams transported it and what importance Borax still has to the world today. We continue to upper Death Valley and the Ubehebe Crater – the largest in a series of craters found in the area. Around 6,000 years ago a powerful volcanic explosion created this crater which is half a mile in diameter and more than 500 feet deep. Enroute back to the Ranch, we’ll be on the look-out for wildflowers as this is the time of year that wildflowers in Death Valley are most likely (note that mother nature is at work here and the rains during the fall and winter prior will determine what flowers there are to see). We return to the Ranch in the late afternoon with the balance of the evening at leisure.
Day 3
Tuesday, 3/27/2018 - Death Valley and Journey Home
After an included breakfast we’ll travel north to the massive Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes,  a vast area of mountain-fringed sand dunes reaching 100 feet. After a stop at Stovepipe Wells we continue west making a stop for lunch on your own in Ridgecrest. After an afternoon rest stop, we arrive back at our drop-off points in the evening.
